PAWS Wild Night Table Captains

Table captains are an integral part of the success we experience each year at PAWS Wild Night. Table captains are responsible for inviting guests to their table who they believe will add value to the evening. During the event, it is then the table captain’s responsibility to ensure everyone is having a great time and participating to the max.

Table Captain FAQs

Who can be a table captain?
Any individual, couple, or business attending the event can become a table captain.

How do I register as a table captain?
Purchase a full table or an individual Table Captain Ticket.

Do I have to fill all 10 seats to be a table captain?
You do not have to buy a full table personally and fill it, although many table captains take that route. Some PAWS Wild Night table captains instead ask their tablemates to purchase their own tickets, which attracts new and returning attendees to engage in supporting PAWS’ lifesaving work for the coming year.

When asking tablemates to purchase their own tickets, be sure to give them your “Group Name” so they can enter it when purchasing their ticket.

How do I invite people to join my table?
Filling your table is as simple as extending the invitation. We all love to be invited to events, and your friends will thank you for thinking of them. Invite friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, or whomever else you feel may have an interest in supporting the efforts of PAWS.

The best invitation for your guests is a personal one. Invite them in person, by telephone, or e-mail. Being clear about the date, cost, and method to buy tickets, and perhaps, most importantly, let them know why you are passionate about PAWS. We are happy to provide you with printed invitation to share with your guests.

What is my responsibility before PAWS Wild Night?
Welcome your guests to the PAWS family by sharing your favorite PAWS stories and memories. There are many great stories on our blog and social media but sharing the personal reasons why you love PAWS is a sure-fire way to get your guests excited too.

Aside from inspiring stories of saving lives, you can also give your guests the inside scoop by telling them about some great auction items and activities you know they’ll love.

What is my responsibility during PAWS Wild Night?
Make it personal by adding your own flair to your table. Special name tags, gift bags and party favors make your guests feel welcomed and cared for, and more motivated to save lives.

Team up by setting goals for your table. Go in on auction items that you can all enjoy. Suggest that your guests match your Fund-A-Need gift, or decide on a group goal—can your table raise $2,500, $5,000 or $10,000 during the Fund-A-Need portion of the night? Motivate and inspire your guests by reminding them about the great cause they are supporting. Help quiet the room down during Fund-A-Need so no one loses sight of the important work that you and they make possible.

Meeting and greeting other guests is all part of the fun, but there’s no need to abandon your table; introduce your guests to the people in the room who inspire you.

What is my responsibility after PAWS Wild Night?
Thank your guests for saving lives. Their passion and generosity helps PAWS save the lives of more than 8,500 cats, dogs and wildlife every year. We couldn’t do it without them, or you.

Educate your guests on new ways to get involved. There are many volunteer opportunities at PAWS, from feeding baby birds to office work, dog walking to public outreach - it’s likely there’s a great fit for every guest at your table. Or, perhaps your guests would be interested in becoming foster parents for companion animals who need a second chance. And there’s always loving cats and dogs looking for new, forever homes at PAWS!

On the giving side, remind your guests about matching gifts from their employer. We will send them all the information they need to get started.
